A Regular Teacher is one who is engaged on a regular basis. All regular teachers will be on probation for one year extendable to one more year by the management. After successful completion of probation period or extended period of probation, as the case may be, the teacher will be confirmed as Regular Appointee by the appointing authority, by a written order (regular appointments whould be liable to transfer, at the discretion of management).
NO VACANCY
These appointments are made, on contract, for a fixed term of three academic sessions. The contract will be only for one term, non extendable and non renewable. The appointment of such staff automatically stands terminated on last day of third academic session including the academic session, in which appointed.
The appointments in this category are made against leave vacancy or in case, the school is not able to find a suitable teacher through rouinely prescribed procedures. Such appointments are for a very limited period not exceeding 11 months.
NO VACANCY
Vacancies could be 'Regular' or for 'Fixed Term' in nuture, which shall be informed at the time of announcement of vacancies, during publication of advertisements.
Candidates are advised to carefully observe the advertisement, before applying.
An 'Online Screening Test' is conducted each year in the month of Oct/Nov, for vacancies likely to arise during the ensuing academic year. This shall be conducted On-Line by an agency identified by HQ AWES centrally, to ensure uniform quality of teachers in all Army Public Schools. Those who qualify in this stage will be gived a Score Card (generally termed as CSB Score Card), which shall be valid for life provided the candidate picks up a teaching job within three years from the date of passing the screening exam in any CBSE affiliated school for a continuous during of at least one year. A Score Card will made candidate eligible to appear for the remaining stages of the selection process. In addition to fresh candidates, the following may also appear for the screening test :-
(a) Holders of Score Cards who want to improve their scores.
(b) Those desirous of upgrading themselves, that is, a candidate holding Score Card of TGT may now want to obtain a card of PGT, having acquired additional qualification.
(c) The CSB Score cards held from previous Screening Tests are valid for three years from the date of issue. Their validity automatically gets extended for life provided all of the following conditions are fulfilled :-
(i) The candidate should have served in any CBSE Recognized School with Three Years of passing the online CSB Exam.
(ii) Should have served at the level (PGT/TGT/PRT) for which the score card made him/her eligible for employment in an APS.
(iii) The employment so taken up should be unbroken service of at least nine continuous months of an academic session.
The respective school announces the available vacancies, though various means like local Newspapers, the School Webisite, Notice Board etc. Candidates would have to apply in response to these announcements. The interviews may or may not be held at the location of the school. They may be held as per discretion of the local management.
This will be conducted along with the interview. Candidates will not be called separately for this stage of the selection process unless the number of candidates is large and cannot be managed on the same day. There will be three parts in this :-
(a) Part-I - Teaching Practice where the candidate will be asked to conduct a class.
(b) Part-II - Test for Computer Proficiency.
(c) Part-III - This is applicable only to Language Teachers both PGT and TGT. A written test will be conducted to assess the written expression of the candidate. Two questions (essay writing and comprehension) of 15 marks each will be set by the Board.
